My Life In Pictures...

Hello Lovely Girlfriends... I may procrastinate, but I try to never break a promise. I promised to post some real life pics in the New Year, and TA-DA, signed, sealed, delivered :)  It takes hands to build a house, but hearts to build a home.  I moved into my new home early spring last year, and I absolutely stinkin' love it!! My home is filled with soul... everywhere I turn I spot loving little trinkets and reminders of my family and friends.

My curtains and cushions are mostly all handmade by me. I also created a stained glass bunting for my fireplace in which each dazzling piece was handmade by an artisan in France. I have a beautiful room divider (which is still a work in progress as a memory board) built by my dad, who also made the wonderful little candle set nested in my fireplace. And my wonderful friends gave me the most meaningful gifts... a wooden horse, a white rabbit in a snow globe, hand blown glass, and silly little characters which adorn my mantle and are always a source of entertainment. **My mixed martial arts school, Fang Shen Do, is based on Bruce Lee's techniques, hence the figurines.** I also have very exciting news about my school!! But right now everything is shhhhh.....!!
And what would a home be if it's not filled with absolute babes??! I adore my friends with all my heart. I am so lucky to have found them.

My best girls and my best guys are absolutely awesome. They are the kind of friends who when told I need a moment alone, never stray too far. These are the friends whom I have telephone conversations with at 2am. These are the friends who rush to my side because we simply cannot go without seeing each other. These are the friends who need no invitation, who's drop-in's are always a wonderful surprise.  These are the friends with whom there is never any pretending.

In my friends, I find a second self. I love having my friends in my home. To me, my home is not just a place to live, but a place of understanding. There is nothing quite like staying in with your friends at home... that is true comfort.
And what better things to do when staying in than enjoying great food and great conversation. I cannot even count how many breakfasts for two have been enjoyed, nor how many scrumptious dinners. I love cooking for my friends, I love cooking with my friends, and oh how I love when my friends cook for me!! That's how you know your friends ROCK, when they drop in with a bag of groceries and prepare a meal for you. Best. Friends. Ever. BAM!!

Well, I think this post is long enough for now, although I have plenty more to share. My career has taken a whole new direction... I signed some new papers for my day job... and have wickedly exciting news about my MMA school. But that will be for another day... ;)

Is it weird to say that I'm in love with your mantel? The way you've decorated it is just too charming! :)

“It takes hands to build a house, but hearts to build a home.” It’s easy to build and maintain a house but it takes years, patience, and effort to make a lasting relationship. By the way, how are you now? I hope that filling your new home with wonderful trinkets and reminders of your family and friends is enough to give it a warm feeling.
